This vast castle complex founded in 1204 comprises of several buildings and yards that used to serve as a seat of the British government of Ireland. Throughout its history, the castle also served as the residence of the monarch and later on the monarch's representative.
Nowadays, not only can you discover two museums, library and international conference centre inside the castle, enjoy a coffee in one of the two cafés or a stroll through the gardens, you can also visit the government buildings and the state apartments, considered the most important staterooms in the country.
