American dream coming true - this is how the process of proposing and constructing this building could be described. John D. Rockefeller Jr. decided to build this venue during the stock market crash in 1929 as a symbol of hope and optimism. They didn't try to be at least somewhat conservative. The building's interior was expensive, luxurious and pompous. And that helped because it became extremely popular right after opening.
The Music Hall offers countless performances, from sporting events, concerts, live entertainment, family shows and venue tours, there is something for everyone. It's especially popular during Christmas time when people get to see the famous Rockettes performing a winter special with Santa Claus.
Please bear in mind that taking photos or videos is not permitted during the performances, and it also disturbs other visitors. You can get here by subways 1 and 2, 50 Street Station. There's also the Av of the Americas/w 51 St bus stop, lines M5 and M7.
Tours last approximately 75 minutes and start every half an hour from 9:30 am until 5 pm.

Mon - Sat: 10 am - 6 pm
If an event starts after 6:30 pm, the box office will stay open 1 hour after the beginning. If an event takes place on a Sunday, the box office will open 90 minutes prior to it or at noon, depending on which is sooner.

If not from the USA, you will have to pay a small fee ($2.50) for picking up your tour tickets.
