جزيرة إيليس هي جزيرة تقع في خليج نيويورك العلوي، في ميناء نيويورك في الولايات المتحدة، كانت تعتبر البوابة لملايين المهاجرين إلى الولايات المتحدة، وذلك من سنة 1882 إلى سنة 1954، حيث استقبلت الكثير من الجاليات المهاجرة خصوصاً من الإيطاليين والإيرلنديين.ونظراً لارتباط تاريخ هذه الجزيرة بالهجرة والتي تعتبر عاملاً مهماً في تشكيل الأمة الأمريكية فقد تم بناء متحف الهجرة على هذه الجزيرة.
للوصول إل هذه الجزيرة من نيويورك نستطيع أخذ القوارب الذاهبة إلى جزيرة الحرية والتي بدورها تعرّج على على جزيرة إيليس بعد توقف في جزيرة الحرية حيث يوجد تمثال الحرية.
The ferry to the island runs daily from 8:30 a.m. in summer (9:30 a.m. in winter) to 3.30 p.m. in summer (3:30 p.m. in winter). Final departure from Ellis Island at 5:15 p.m in both winter and summer.
Ellis Island begins closing 30 minutes prior to the final departure.
Departure times are subject to change. For further information, please visit the official website. Wait times to board any ferry can be over 90 minutes during peak months (April - September) and holidays.
The island is closed on December 25.
