Národní hřebčín Kladruby

This facility is one of the oldest stud farms in the world and serves as the home for the Old Kladruber, the oldest original Czech horse breed. Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2019, the area features a specialized landscape and historic architecture specifically designed for the breeding and training of ceremonial carriage horses.

The complex includes historic stables, a chateau associated with Emperor Franz Joseph I, and museums documenting the history of the stud and equine breeding. The surrounding environment is a protected cultural landscape, reflecting centuries of specialized land use for the development of these horses.

The institution functions as a national cultural monument, preserving the heritage of horses used for ceremonial carriage services. The site also houses a specialized research library and is open to the public for exploration of its historical buildings and grounds.
