Parc des Bastions

Established in the 18th century, this 64,968 m² public space is the oldest historic park in the city center and was the original site of the first botanical garden. The grounds house several significant architectural landmarks, including the Palais Eynard, the old university building, and the Reformation Wall. This monumental sculpture commemorates the leaders of the Protestant Reformation.

The park features a variety of leisure facilities, including giant outdoor chess boards and other oversized games. A playground is available for children, and a restaurant is located within a former botanical glass house. The space also includes wide promenades and lush greenery, reflecting its botanical history.

As a central cultural hub, the park hosts numerous public events and cultural festivals throughout the year, such as the Fête de la Musique. The site is open to the public and serves as a primary venue for relaxation and community gatherings.
