Scaur Hill Fort Park

Built by Great Britain in the late 1860s, this colonial-era fortification was designed to defend against potential threats following the American Civil War. The site retains historical military features including cannons and a defensive moat. It is situated atop a prominence, providing panoramic views across the Great Sound and toward the Royal Naval Dockyard.

The fortification has been converted into a 22-acre public park that is open to the public. The grounds feature a network of walking trails and dedicated picnic areas set among historical ruins and natural landscapes.
