Továrna Tugendhat a Kohn

Founded by Max Kohn, this industrial building originally served as a woollen cloth and drapery factory. It was later managed by Emil Tugendhat and subsequently by his sons, Hans and Fritz Tugendhat. Profits from the facility helped fund the family's cultural and charitable activities. Following World War II, the factory was confiscated and merged into the national enterprise Mosilana. Although textile production eventually ended, the building remains a significant example of the city's Moravian Manchester era.

The site consists of two interconnected structures: a six-story weaving mill and a three-story shearing mill. The architecture is defined by brick construction and characteristic industrial window grids. While Fritz Tugendhat and his wife, Grete Löw-Beer, commissioned the famous Villa Tugendhat, that residence is located in the Černá Pole district, approximately 2 km north of this factory.
