This active caldera volcano is characterized by a unique geological structure consisting of a volcano within a lake within a volcano. Situated within the large Taal Lake, the site features Volcano Island, which contains multiple craters and its own crater lake. Inside this inner crater lake lies a smaller island known as Vulcan Point.

Recognized as the second most active volcano, the site serves as a significant location for geological study and observation. The surrounding landscape consists of a large caldera filled by a lake, providing views of the nearby mountains and the complex volcanic system.

Hiking opportunities lead to the crater rim, where the inner lake and surrounding geography are visible. The area is categorized as a nature reserve and a peak for discovering unique geological features.
