This historic royal necropolis dates back to the Saadi dynasty, specifically the 16th-century reign of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur. The site serves as the final resting place for the sultan and his family members.
The complex is renowned for its Moorish architecture, featuring luxurious decoration and intricate interior design. Architectural elements include detailed stucco, traditional zellij tilework, and carved cedar wood. Marble carvings are also present throughout the mausoleum.
