The area is a mix of agricultural and conservation land tended by the Maui Land & Pineapple Company in Lahaina, Hawaiʻi, including coastline management. Honolua Bay and Mokuleʻia Bay comprise the 45-acre Honolua-Mokuleʻia Marine Life Conservation District.
