Tōfuku-ji Temple

The origins of this Rinzai Zen Buddhist temple go back many centuries. It was established in the 13th century but later the temple burned down, and was reconstructed into the form you can see now in the 15th century. The gate of this temple, which is called Sanmon, is the oldest one in Japan.
