Rødderne til eksistensen af Clock Tower på Markuspladsen går tilbage til det 15. århundrede. Denne renæssancebygning sammen med uret blev bygget i 1499. Urmekanismen er dog ikke den originale. Det blev moderniseret flere gange.
Tårnet er dekoreret med mange statuer (f.eks. Løven af Venedig eller Jomfru og barn). Interessant nok er tidens numeriske visning i både romerske (timer) og arabiske (minutter) tal.
Hvis du vil besøge Clock Tower, skal du booke din tur på forhånd. Hvis du planlægger at klatre op i tårnet, skal du være forberedt på smalle trin (der er ingen elevator).

Meeting point is the Ticket Office of the Correr Museum, 5 minutes before the departure time for the visit booked.

Children (6-14), students, seniors (65+): €7
Holders of the ticket also get free admission to the Museo Correr, the National Archaeological Museum and the State Rooms of the Biblioteca Marciana.
