Sankt-Olav-Kirche

Dating back to approximately 1250, with some records suggesting construction before 1200, this medieval structure is the oldest church in the region still in active use. It functions as an active parish of the Lutheran Church and historically served as the seat of the Catholic bishop before the Reformation. Between 1111 and 1538, it was the principal church for the diocese.

The building features medieval architecture and contains significant archaeological findings and artifacts from the Middle Ages. It is part of a historic ecclesiastical complex situated alongside the ruins of Magnus Cathedral and the Kirkjubøargarður farmhouse.

Originally established as a cathedral, the white church remains a significant historical landmark and continues to serve as a functioning place of worship.
