Bunk’Art 2

Housed within a former underground nuclear bunker originally built for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, this museum serves as a memorial and historical archive. The structure, a relic of the Cold War, provides a setting for documenting the history of the Albanian police system and the Sigurimi, the former secret police. The museum is open to the public and presents the mechanisms of the communist regime through various archival displays.

Exhibitions span the years 1912 to 1991, illustrating the evolution of internal security forces and the methods used for political repression. Archives and displays focus on surveillance activities, the operation of prisons, and the persecution of political opponents. Specific sections are dedicated to the daily lives of citizens under the regime and the pervasive nature of state propaganda.

The site preserves the brutalist underground architecture of the original shelter while functioning as a history museum. Facilities such as Wi-Fi and public toilets are available on-site. The collections include extensive archives and artifacts that highlight the historical chapters of the communist era in Albania.
