Der Alexandra Palace wurde 1873 als Freizeit- und Erholungspark The People’s Palace auf einer Anhöhe im Norden des Londoner Stadtbezirks Haringey eröffnet. Benannt wurden das Gebäude und der umliegende Park nach der Queen Consort Alexandra von Dänemark.
