The Kikuzuki was a Mutsuki-class destroyer of the Imperial Japanese Navy that saw service during the Pacific War. On May 4, 1942, during the invasion of Tulagi, the vessel was torpedoed and subsequently sunk. The ship's remains now lie in a partially submerged and partially dismantled state, serving as a historical monument to the region's maritime conflict.
Over time, the wreck has been integrated into the local environment, with mangrove growth appearing on its exposed structure. It remains a significant site for understanding the maritime history of the Solomon Islands.
