Managed by Big Game Parks, this protected area spans approximately 22,000 hectares (roughly 220 km²). Established in 1967, the park was formerly a royal hunting ground and currently stands as the largest conservation area in the region. The terrain is characterized by diverse lowveld habitats and bushveld landscapes.
The sanctuary supports a variety of megafauna, including lions, elephants, and white rhinoceroses, as well as giraffes. It is also a significant site for birdlife, specifically known for its high density of nesting white-backed vultures.
On-site facilities include Ndlovu Camp and Bhubesi Camp, which serve as rest camps for those staying within the park boundaries. Available activities include guided game drives, walking safaris, and mountain biking. The park is open to the public for wildlife viewing and nature conservation.
