Petroglyphs of Cholpon-Ata

This historical site is an open-air museum containing thousands of ancient rock carvings scattered across low cliffs. These petroglyphs date back to the Bronze Age and were created by the Andronov and Scythian tribes. Many of the carvings primarily depict animals, specifically ibex and deer, providing insight into the region's history through weathered figures.

The area is considered a significant ritual space where many carvings are purposefully aligned toward the sun. In addition to the rock art, the site features ancient tombs and balbal memorial stones. These stone monuments and burial markers are integrated into the landscape of historical stones.

The museum is open to the public, allowing for exploration of the historical stones and rock formations. The carvings remain in their original outdoor setting, preserved across the archaeological site.
