This mountain ridge reaches an elevation of 2,694 meters and forms the northern boundary of the Flimserstein. As part of the UNESCO World Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona, the area displays significant geological phenomena, most notably the Glarus thrust (Glarner Hauptüberschiebung). The landscape is characterized by a high plateau and the presence of Verrucano rock formations. The ridge serves as a habitat for local wildlife, including ibex, chamois, and the Eurasian dotterel.

The terrain supports alpine activities such as hiking and snowshoeing. Trails provide views of the Tschingelhörner and the Martinsloch geological window. The ridge acts as a starting point for alpine routes toward the Segnesböden area and includes access to the historic Pinut via ferrata. It is situated 2.2 kilometers from the Dorfberg peak.
