Completed in 2016, this national monument serves as a permanent tribute to soldiers and individuals who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. The 46,000-square-metre site provides a space for reflection and historical education regarding the nation's heroes since 1971.
The site consists of three main structures: the Memorial, the Pavilion of Honour, and the Memorial Plaza. The central memorial features 31 massive aluminum-clad tablets that lean on one another, symbolizing unity and support between the soldiers, leadership, and citizens. The design represents a fusion of art and architecture.
The Pavilion of Honour and the Memorial Plaza offer dedicated areas for commemoration. A visitor centre is also located on-site to provide further information about the memorial's history and significance. The site is open to the public.
