Situated at an elevation of 3,988 meters, this is the highest motorable point in the country. The pass connects two mountain valleys via a steep, narrow, and winding road.
The landscape is characterized by forests of pine, oak, and rhododendrons. Numerous prayer flags are positioned throughout the area, providing views of the Himalayan range, including Mount Jomolhari.
The site served as a filming location for the movie Travellers & Magicians. It also functions as a starting point for hiking trails, such as the path to the Kila Goemba nunnery.
