These volcanic basalt sea stacks consist of two distinct rock formations. Rising approximately 70 meters from the water, the structures are a result of volcanic activity that created steep, dramatic cliffs.
The larger stack, known as Stóri Drangur, is characterized by a prominent natural sea arch. This large hole is the most recognizable geological feature of the formations and is a focal point for photography.
The site is a destination for hikers and offers views across the North Atlantic Ocean. While the area is used for coastal exploration, the primary interest remains the unique silhouette of the stacks against the sea.
