You can attend great opera performances in this theatre. Also, its magnificent interior, which you can explore during the tours, is a hidden gem of Venice. The theatres occupating this site had a somewhat tragic history though since two of them were destroyed by fire. The present-day one was built at the beginning of the second millennium in such way so it would resemble its 19th-century predecessor.
Guided tours are available for at least 12 people (booking needed). The theatre is usually open for tours every day from 9:30 am to 6 pm, although variations may occur calendar for artistic or technical reasons.
