Morristown Medical Center is a 693-bed non-profit, tertiary, research and academic medical center located in Morristown, New Jersey, servicing northern New Jersey and the New York area. MMC is the region's only university-level academic medical center. The hospital is owned by the Atlantic Health System and is the flagship and largest hospital in the system. MMC is affiliated with the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School of Rutgers University, Sidney Kimmel School of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University, St. George's University, and the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. MMC is also an ACS designated level I trauma center and has a rooftop helipad to handle medevac patients. Attached to the medical center is the Goryeb Children's Hospital that treats infants, children, adolescents, and young adults up to the age of 21.The hospital was established in 1892. With approximately 6,000 employees, it is Morristown's largest employer.
