Nipponbashi Denden Town

This district is the place to go for people who love electronic gadgets or collectables. In case you need a specific electronic device, just about any major brand residing in Japan has a store here, so you can be sure you will find what you need in no time. Also, the prices are not necessarily strictly given and are often negotiable.

The name Denden Town started being used after WWII. Until then, these streets were known for selling books, but when electronics stores were introduced in the district, people started using its current name to refer to this location (from its nickname "Denki Machi" which means "Electric Town").

Apart from electronics and otaku-related things, this place also has a few maid and cosplay cafes, which are very popular in Japan.
