Petőfi Theatre

In 1769 the oldest stone theatre in the country saw its opening ceremony here.

The current theatre, however, dates back only to 1992, as the original building had to be rebuilt several times since its construction.

Today, the theatre functions as the cultural centre of the area again. It not only stages plays but also serves as the home stage of Sopron Ballet Company.
