Built between 1817 and 1819, this neoclassical staffage building was designed by architect Joseph Kornhäusel. It is an example of the Empire style and serves as a salet or maison de plaisance within the Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape. The structure is characterized by its Doric columns and a distinctive relief frieze.
The building features decorative reliefs created by the sculptor Joseph Klieber. Situated on a hill on the shore of the Mlýnský pond, the temple was designed as a visual element within the extensive Valtice castle park. Its status as a UNESCO World Heritage site reflects its significance within the unique landscape complex.
A viewing terrace equipped with a telescope is located on the upper part of the monument, providing views of the surrounding pond and landscape. The building is accessible to the public and functions as a historical monument and scenic viewpoint.
