Sara Hildén Art Museum

Inaugurated in 1979, this municipal art museum houses a significant collection of modern and contemporary art donated by Sara Hildén. The permanent collection features works from the 1960s and 1970s, including pieces by internationally renowned masters such as Joan Miró, Francis Bacon, and Alberto Giacometti. The institution is also recognized for its high-quality publication series and its focus on domestic Finnish art.

The facility is located in the Särkänniemi district and includes an on-site sculpture park that offers views of the surrounding lake. Rotating exhibitions frequently showcase contemporary painting and graphic art from both domestic and foreign artists. The museum grounds are also home to the on-site Café Sara.

The museum is open to the public and focuses on showcasing the evolution of international and Finnish contemporary art. The foundation for the museum was established in 1975, and it has since become a prominent venue for high-quality international exhibitions.
