Flower Garden

Established between 1665 and 1675, this UNESCO World Heritage site was commissioned by Bishop Karel of Lichtenstein-Castelkorn. Also known as Libosad, the garden represents a unique transition between late Italian Renaissance and early Baroque French-style design. The architectural layout was shaped by architects Filiberto Lucchese, Giovanni Pietro Tencalla, and Anton Arche. A significant restoration of the grounds was completed in 2014.

The garden is characterized by its precise symmetrical layout and geometric French-style park elements. A central octagonal rotunda serves as a focal point, complemented by a 224-meter long colonnade decorated with various mythological sculptures. The landscape also features intricate labyrinths and diverse ornamental elements that reflect 17th-century garden architecture.

The site is open to the public and offers a historical landscape that remains accessible in every season. On-site facilities include a tourist information office and a gift shop. The garden serves as a significant example of a formally composed European garden and is considered a masterpiece of historical garden architecture.
