Built in the 17th century by the Republic of Venice, this fortification complex was designed to protect the region from Ottoman Empire attacks. The site exhibits baroque architecture and is designated as a National Cultural Heritage property.
The fortress currently functions as a cultural center, containing the Croatian Maritime Museum and the State Archives. The complex is also utilized as a location for concerts and other cultural events.
