This historical fortification site dates back to the 1930s and represents a key part of Czechoslovak pre-war defense history. The complex consists of preserved infantry and artillery bunkers connected by an extensive underground network of corridors, halls, and casemates. A modern visitor center provides context for the military structures and exhibitions managed by the Muzeum Náchodska.
The site is a Special Area of Conservation and part of the Natura 2000 network, serving as a significant wintering ground for several species of bats. Access is available through guided tours, including specialized night tours illuminated by kerosene lamps.
