Catedral de San Olaf de Bergen

Dating back to approximately 1150, this historic Lutheran cathedral was originally dedicated to Saint Olav. The structure is a stone long church that serves as the episcopal seat of the Diocese of Bjørgvin. Its architecture features a blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles, including a 13th-century west portal. Throughout its history, the building has undergone several reconstructions, most notably during the 16th and 19th centuries.

A notable feature of the exterior is a cannonball still embedded in the wall from the 1665 Battle of Vågen. The interior contains stained glass windows, memorials to significant Norwegian figures, and a Rieger organ installed in 1997. The building has a maximum capacity of 600 people.

The site has played a role in national history, serving as a polling station for the 1814 Norwegian Constituent Assembly. It is currently open to the public and hosts regular religious services, concerts, and art exhibitions. It is managed as one of five churches within the local congregation.
