Parque Nacional Inagua

Managed by the Bahamas National Trust, this nature reserve was established in 1965 and is recognized as a Wetland of International Importance. The park covers approximately 183,740 acres and is home to the world's largest breeding colony of West Indian flamingos, a species that was once on the brink of extinction. This colony consists of more than 40,000 birds.

The terrain features the large salt-water Lake Rosa, which provides a critical habitat for a variety of species. Beyond the flamingos, the park supports native parrots, hummingbirds, and wild donkeys, as well as various endangered reptiles and migratory waterbirds.

The site is open to the public and serves as a location for bird watching and wildlife viewing. It is one of 33 national parks within the Bahamian protected area system focused on environmental conservation.
