Owned by the Liechtenstein family since 1436, this historic site transitioned from a Gothic fortress to a moated castle in the 17th century, eventually becoming a Baroque palace. It served as the summer and hunting seat for the reigning princes and continues to function as the administrative center for the family's estates.
The castle houses a museum featuring a permanent exhibition on the history of the House of Liechtenstein and their regional heritage. A local history collection and contemporary art exhibitions are located within the building, with the Festsaal serving as a venue for vernissages and events.
The estate is known for its princely cellars and 38.5 hectares of vineyards producing white wine. Guided tours and audioguides are available for exploring the history and architecture. The grounds also host seasonal events such as the Schlossfestival and KulturHerbst.
