The Church of the Most Holy Trinity was designed by sculptor Fritz Wotruba and planned by architect Fritz Gerhard Mayr. Built between 1974 and 1976, the building is a prominent example of Brutalist architecture and is recognized as a national monument.
The construction consists of 152 concrete blocks of varying sizes and shapes, assembled without traditional symmetry. These blocks are joined by clear glass panels that function as windows, allowing light to illuminate the interior space.
The design draws inspiration from the proportions of Chartres Cathedral, reinterpreting religious architecture through abstract, geometric forms. The church is situated on the Georgenberg and continues to serve as an active place of worship.
