שורשי קיומו של מגדל השעון בכיכר סנט מרק חוזרים למאה ה- 15. בניין הרנסנס הזה יחד עם השעון נבנה בשנת 1499. מנגנון השעון אינו המקורי למרות זאת. זה עבר מודרניזציה מספר פעמים.
המגדל מעוטר בפסלים רבים (למשל אריה ונציה או הבתולה והילד). מעניין לציין שהצגה המספרית של הזמן נעשית גם בספרות רומיות (שעות) וגם בערבית (דקות).

Meeting point is the Ticket Office of the Correr Museum, 5 minutes before the departure time for the visit booked.

Children (6-14), students, seniors (65+): €7
Holders of the ticket also get free admission to the Museo Correr, the National Archaeological Museum and the State Rooms of the Biblioteca Marciana.
