These two-tiered falls descend 600 meters over the rock faces of an alpine plateau. Recognized as a National Monument and protected under environmental law since 1948, the site is one of the highest and most water-rich waterfall systems in the region. The landscape is part of a protected nature reserve and is characterized by its significant volume of water.
Access to the area is possible via a cable car or through various hiking trails during the summer months. Exploration of the falls is facilitated by a network of paths and a via ferrata (Klettersteig) that follows the rock walls. The plateau serves as a base for further exploration of the surrounding mountain landscape.
In the winter, the frozen cascades are a site for ice climbing. The falls represent a significant natural landmark that has been under protection for several decades.
