Founded in the 18th century by Count Franz Anton von Sporck, this National Cultural Monument originally served as a charitable institution for military veterans. The complex, designed by architect Giovanni Battista Alliprandi, is a significant example of Baroque architecture. Historically managed by the Merciful Brothers, the site includes the main hospital building and the Church of the Holy Trinity.
The grounds are renowned for an extensive collection of Baroque sculptures created by Matthias Bernhard Braun. These works include the allegorical statues of Vices and Virtues, which are central to the artistic identity of the complex. The site is open to the public, with guided tours covering the hospital interiors, the historical pharmacy, and the Sporck family tomb.
The Czech Pharmaceutical Museum is housed within the complex, featuring exhibitions on the history of medicine and pharmacy. The facility also functions as a modern regional educational center and museum dedicated to Baroque art and the life of its founder. The nearby Bethlehem sculptural site is also associated with the complex.
