Founded in 1932, this institution is one of Israel's most significant art museums, focusing primarily on modern and contemporary art. The museum houses a vast collection that spans 20th-century European movements, Israeli art, and classical works. It operates across three central buildings, including the Main Building and the Eyal Ofer Pavilion.
The museum is noted for its architectural significance, particularly the Amir Building designed by Preston Scott Cohen. Other architects who contributed to the museum's structures include Dan Eytan, Yitzhak Yashar, Carl Rubin, Yaakov Rechter, and Ram Karmi.
