Designed in a neoclassical style by architects Juan Arellano, Tomás Mapúa, and Ralph Doane, this historic structure was completed in 1926. It is situated along the Pasig River and serves as the headquarters for the Philippine Postal Corporation. The National Museum of the Philippines has designated the building as an Important Cultural Property due to its architectural and historical significance.
The building has survived multiple periods of upheaval, including significant damage sustained during World War II. In May 2023, a major fire caused severe structural damage, leading to the current efforts to preserve and restore the landmark.
The site is currently temporarily closed to the public while restoration work is conducted.
