The Silver Gate, historically known as Porta orientalis, is the eastern entrance to the Diocletian's Palace. Constructed from limestone, it is one of the four main Roman gates that provided access to the ancient complex. The structure originally included two octagonal defensive towers, the remains of which are still visible today.
Over the centuries, the gate underwent various architectural modifications, including the addition of a church built directly above the entrance.
