Built primarily in the late 11th and 12th centuries, this Catholic church is constructed from the distinctive red sandstone characteristic of the area. Its design features a Romanesque bell tower and a notable limestone tympanum sculpted in the 12th century. The building's layout follows an irregular plan, the result of various modifications and additions made over several centuries.
During the late 14th century and the Wars of Religion, the structure was modified with fortified architecture. These defensive elements were added to protect the site during periods of conflict. The interior is richly decorated and contains several historical elements.
The church is a designated monument historique. It is a central feature of a village that was instrumental in the creation of the Plus Beaux Villages de France (Most Beautiful Villages of France) label, launched by former mayor Charles Ceyrac to preserve local heritage.
