Montmartre

District well-known as a home of artists and other free-spirited souls and also as the best place in Paris when it comes to nightlife. Even today it maintains its special atmosphere. You may remember this area from the popular movie Amélie (starring Audrey Tautou).

The dominant landmark of this district is the Basilica of the Sacré Cœur. However, there are many other significant sights and museums in the area so be sure to explore it properly.

In the past, many famous artists had worked in Montmartre, including Salvador Dalí and Pablo Picasso. Today, you can still get your portrait painted here by the artists in the streets.
