This well-preserved Romanesque fortification, also known as the White Tower, dates back to the 13th century. It was originally constructed to defend the southern gate of the town wall. In 1646, a bell known as the campana latrunculorum or "thieves' bell" was installed to signal the daily closing of the town gates.
The tower is home to the Grič cannon (Grički top), which has fired a single shot every day at noon since 1877 to mark the time. This tradition has made the structure a significant landmark and symbol. An observation deck provides panoramic views of the surrounding area.
Currently functioning as a cultural site and exhibition space, the tower is managed by the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery. The site is open to the public and serves as both a viewpoint and a historical monument.
