알 알람 왕궁

The Al Alam Palace is the ceremonial residence of the Sultan of Oman, primarily utilized for official state functions and welcoming foreign dignitaries. Commissioned by Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said, the former Sultan of Oman, in the early 1970s, the building serves as a prestigious site representing Omani royal heritage rather than a primary residential palace.

The structure is characterized by a unique gold and blue facade decorated with intricate mosaics. It is situated within a grand marble plaza and is bordered by the historical Al Jalali and Al Mirani forts. The architectural design is noted for its striking colors and modern Islamic style.

While the interior remains closed to the public and the inner grounds are restricted, the exterior and the surrounding plaza are viewable from the palace gates. Photography of the distinctive architecture is permitted from these public areas.
