This historic Art Nouveau hotel was originally constructed as a sanatorium between 1898 and 1900. Designed by architects Pfleghard and Haefeli, the building is a prominent example of Jugendstil architecture and is designated as a Cultural Heritage Site. It served as the primary inspiration for the setting of Thomas Mann's literary work, 'The Magic Mountain'.
