Built in 1762 as a summer residence for the rulers of the Sheki Khanate, this structure was officially opened in 1797. The palace represents a significant architectural monument of the 18th century and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It currently functions as a museum, preserving the luxury and artistic heritage of the region.
The building stands 10.0 meters tall and covers an area of 120.5 square meters. It is renowned for its architecture of Iran and its exterior decorations. A defining feature is the use of shebeke, which are intricate wooden latticework windows fitted with colorful glass. These stained-glass windows are uniquely constructed without the use of nails or glue.
The interior is characterized by lavish decorations, including detailed frescoes and ornate wall paintings. Mirrored halls and traditional Azerbaijani craftsmanship are displayed throughout the residence. The artwork and design provide a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the former khans.
