This limestone gorge is the deepest and largest in the country, with walls reaching heights of up to 500 meters. Carved by the Rio Fiumineddu river, it is situated within the Supramonte mountains. The canyon maintains a wild and untouched appearance, with no artificial structures interfering with its natural state.

The area is noted for its unique geology and diverse ecosystem, which includes various endemic species of flora and fauna. Due to the height of the walls, the environment remains cool even during the summer season.

Exploration is possible through various trails that traverse the canyon floor. The site is open to the public and is associated with local history and legends.
