The site is a protected natural monument consisting of a large main spring emerging from a cave opening, supplemented by ten minor springs that create a significant water flow and several waterfalls. The area is developed as a scenic park with wooden bridges and established walking paths that navigate the rocky, moss-covered terrain. Several small chapels are situated within the park grounds.
Beyond its natural features, the springs hold cultural importance and serve as a central location for local customs and rites of passage. Historically, the site was the focus of a 1987 conflict regarding local water rights, which led to the symbolic proclamation of the "Republic of Vevchani." The area hosts various cultural events, including the exhibition The Blue of the Vevchani Springs, and is linked to the tradition of an annual village carnival. The site is open to the public.
