The Cresta Run is a historic natural ice track and private sporting venue with roots dating back to 1884. Established as a dedicated site for skeleton racing, a sport that originated at this location in the late 19th century, the facility is managed by a private club founded in 1887. It is recognized as the oldest natural ice run in existence.
The course is defined by a narrow, winding layout that descends through a valley. A notable feature is the infamous Shuttlecock corner, which presents a significant challenge to participants. Athletes navigate the ice channel headfirst on specialized toboggans, reaching speeds of up to 140 km/h.
This venue hosts over forty competitive races annually, including the prestigious The Grand National. It serves as a site for both professional-level competition and practice sessions. The facility maintains a long-standing tradition as a private club-run operation focused on the unique requirements of the sport.
